{Dessert Table} C is for Cake and Carter!

August 20, 2012

To celebrate Carters first birthday, my brother and sister-in-law threw him a pool party at their home.  Carter loves sesame street and Mommy loves anything colorful so we decided on a Rainbow Sesame Street party!

I came up with the idea of a 28 layer rainbow cake from a photo I saw on pinterest.  Once I started mixing the cake batter in to gorgeous color combinations, I got carried away and  it soon evolved into a 40 layer cake!

And here it is from the other side!

Since the cake was so large, I decided on a sundae bar to compliment the cake.  There was ice cream, waffle cones and bowls and lots of yummy toppings.

I also had Cookie Monster Milk and cookie shots,Oscar the Grouch Trash Cans,

Grover Ice Cream Floats,

Abbys Magic Ice Cream Wands,

And Dorothy’s Goldfish!

Here is Carter seeing his dessert table for the first time!  He is looking at Dad to see if he is allowed to touch it!

The Printables for the party were done by Sweet Scarlet Designs.  They included all of the printables on the dessert table, the invitation, bunting, signs and thank you tags.

The kids table set up ….

Monsters everywhere!

We also cut out these adorable Big bird, Elmo and Grover feet to lead everyone into the party…

and finally treat bags for the kids to take home with them! The party was so much fun and over 30 people came out to celebrate.  Thank you to all my friends and family who made this day extra special for my little man!
